Multi-evening events on a church lot or a closed street, run by a parish committee, with rides, food, a stage and a crowd that is mostly families. The same team across every evening, an entrance that holds without feeling like one, and officers who know the pastor and the committee chair by sight.
Catering halls and banquet venues
Weddings, sweet sixteens, retirement dinners and galas in the borough’s function halls, most of which have their own house staff and a maître d’ who runs the room. We take the door, the guest list and anyone who has to be handled quietly; their staff keep serving. The line between the two is agreed before the first guest arrives.
Waterfront, boardwalk and park events
Summer festivals, markets and community days along the North Shore waterfront and the South Beach and Midland Beach boardwalks, plus the borough’s larger parks. Open sites with several approaches, a wind that moves signage and tents, and a crowd that thins toward the water. Officers hold the entry points and the edges rather than the middle.
School, civic and association events
Fundraisers, graduations, sports banquets, civic-association meetings and community-board events, usually in a school gym or a hall and usually run by volunteers with a principal or a president in charge. Coverage that supports the volunteers rather than replacing them, and a written record afterwards for whoever has to report on the night.
The last ferry is part of your running order
Any Staten Island event with guests from Manhattan has a second clock running that nobody put on the schedule: the boat. A block of your guests will leave together, early, to make a particular sailing — and if the event is anywhere near St. George they will all be walking or driving to the same terminal at the same moment. 2. Almost everyone else drives
With one railway line and buses, a Staten Island event is a car event. Where the cars go, how they get out, and whether the lot or the street can take the last twenty minutes all sit inside the plan, not outside it.
3. Brooklyn guests come over one bridge
Guests from Brooklyn arrive by the Verrazzano and often leave together to beat the traffic. That is a second departure wave, and it usually comes before the one the organiser is expecting.
4. The walkthrough is a short drive, not a project
Our headquarters is on the island, so seeing the venue before we write the plan is easy to arrange. We would rather stand in the room than plan it from a floor plan, and here that is the normal case rather than the exception.
5. The bench is closest to home
We hold a backup and relief bench for every booking, and on Staten Island it is nearest. A no-show or a last-minute request for more people is covered subject to availability — we do not publish a response time, but we are not sending someone across a bridge to get here.
6. The owner works from this office

Dahlcore is a licensed New York State security guard agency. Officers are registered under the New York Security Guard Act (General Business Law Article 7-A) with the NY Department of State, Division of Licensing Services, and their training is DCJS-approved. Licensed, insured and bonded, with a certificate of insurance on request — which most halls and parishes will want before the date is confirmed — and public verification at dos.ny.gov.
Screened, trained, and chosen for the room
Every person is background-checked and trained before assignment, and officers are certified in CPR, AED and First Aid, with naloxone training where an overdose is suspected. For a feast or a family event we also choose for manner — the officer who can greet a pastor, help a grandparent to a seat, and turn someone away without a scene.
Uniformed or low-profile, your call
Officers can work in uniform where a visible presence is the point, or in business attire where it sits better with a wedding or a gala. Guest-facing event staff are not uniformed as security in any case. Tell us the tone at the brief.
Attendance you can check
Positions are written into post orders before the day. Attendance and patrols are confirmed with GPS and geofenced verification, and you get a reporting portal login and a written report afterwards — the record a parish council, a school board or a hall manager will ask you for.
Three evenings, one team
A parish feast or a church fair is not one event, it is the same event three or four nights running, and the second night is where a new team loses the thread. By then the committee knows the rides operator’s name, which gate the food vendors use, and which family always arrives late; a team that changes every evening learns none of it. We keep the assignment consistent across the run wherever we can, so by the second night the officers know the committee chair, the layout and the regulars, and the third night runs itself.

We are a school parents’ association running a fundraiser. What do you actually recommend?
Walk it with us first — but for most school and parish fundraisers it is smaller than people fear: someone on the entrance, someone free to help, and a registered officer if there is alcohol, cash, or a crowd large enough that a volunteer should not be the one dealing with a problem. Which posts need a registered officer is a question for you and the school; we will tell you honestly which ones we think do.

No. Dahlcore covers all five boroughs, Long Island and New York State, from this headquarters and our Manhattan office at 250 Park Avenue. Staten Island is where the company is based, not the limit of where it works. If your organisation runs events in more than one borough, the same account manager stays with all of them.
Is there anything you will not do at a Staten Island event?
Yes, and it is worth knowing before you book. We do not plan the event, obtain the permit or the street closure, hold the liquor licence, sign for deliveries or take on your hire contracts, install or supply cameras or access systems, or investigate anything after the fact — officers observe, act and report. What we do is staff the event you have organised and permitted, to the plan we write with you, and document it afterwards.
