From Security Officer to Founder
Ian Dahlberg is no stranger to the security world. He began his career in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Federal Boarding Officer with the elite Anti-Terrorism and Law Enforcement Unit MSST 91106. That experience — disciplined, mission-focused, and accountable — became the foundation for everything Dahlcore stands for today.
When Ian left the Coast Guard, he looked for civilian work that felt meaningful. Nothing quite fit until he took a job as a security officer while attending college. The role brought back the same sense of purpose and familiarity he had known in the Coast Guard, and he decided to build a career in security.
Ian rose quickly, going on to hold executive positions at two of the largest security firms in the world — managing numerous accounts and overseeing more than 300 security officers and over 10,000 hours of coverage every week. From inside those large corporations, he saw exactly where the industry fell short, and where it could be done far better.
That is when Ian founded Dahlcore. At Dahlcore, we believe security is more than a business — it is a responsibility, both to our clients and to our officers. New York Registration
Our guards are registered under New York’s Security Guard Act (General Business Law Article 7-A) with the NY Department of State, Division of Licensing Services.
DCJS-Approved Training
Officers complete DCJS-approved training — pre-assignment and annual in-service — and armed officers meet New York’s additional firearms requirements.
Thorough Background Checks
Every officer passes a thorough background check before deployment, so you know exactly who is protecting your site.
Licensed & Insured
Dahlcore is licensed and insured and compliant with New York State security regulations. Registration, training, and certificate-of-insurance documentation is available on request.
Ongoing Certifications
We keep certifications up to date and hold officers to law-enforcement and military standards of conduct throughout their assignment.
